Each ChampionshipDivision field consists of 64 teams selected across 8 regional city sites.
Regional champions advance through a defined championship structure, culminating in a national title decided on the floor not by rankings, opinions, or exhibitions.
The Gr8 Eight is designed to mirror the competitive clarity and prestige of major national championships, scaled appropriately for middle school athletes.

The Showcase Division
A SEPARATE CHAMPIONSHIP EVENT.
In addition to the 64-teamchampionship format, the Gr8 Eight also hosts a Showcase Division a stand-alone national championship event.
Each Showcase team will feature an elite or nationally ranked player, creating a high-level environment for top middle school talent. Showcase host cities alternate annually between boys and girls divisions.

Selection Process
EVALUATED. INVITED. CONFIRMED.
Participation in the Gr8 Eight is by application and invitation.
Teams are evaluated and selected by the Gr8 Eight Selection Committee based on competitive level, roster composition, program structure, and overall fit within the championship format.
Submission of an application does not guarantee acceptance. Selection is limited to preserve the integrity and competitive balance of the championship.
